Our
Statement Of Beliefs
In order to properly understand what motivates us in our ministry, it
is important to grasp the elements of our faith and the urgency or our
message.
For
this reason, we provide our doctrinal statement for your study. Please
feel free to contact us if you have any questions, or if you would like
to know more about faith in Jesus Christ.
We Believe:
- That “All scripture is given by the inspiration of the Holy
Spirit.” by
whom we understand God’s infallible Word, the Holy Bible; that
it is inerrant in its original transmission and that its teaching and
authority
is absolute, supreme and final; that the Holy Spirit was the guide for
the human authors. (2 Tim. 3:16; Deut. 4:2; 2 Peter 1:21.)
- That the Triune God exists eternally as Father, Son and Holy Spirit;
Creator, Redeemer, and Sustainer. That these three persons of the Godhead
are one having the same nature, attributes and perfection. (Matt. 28:19;
John 17:5; Rom. 1:20.)
- That salvation comes only through Jesus Christ, the living Son of
the living God, who was conceived by the Holy Spirit and born of the
virgin
Mary, being truly God , both fully divine and fully human. (Matt. 1:20;
John 1:1, 14; 10:30; Luke 1:30-31; Phil. 2:5-7; 1 Tim. 3:16; Col. 1:19.)
- That the Holy Spirit is the source and power of all acceptable worship
and service, the infallible interpreter of God’s Word, who indwells
every true believer and remains ever present to witness of Christ, seeking
to engage us with Him and not with ourselves or our experiences. (John 15:26;
16:13-14; Acts 5:34; 1:8; Rom. 8:9, 26-27;
1 Cor. 2:12; 3:16;
12:13)
- That humanity was created in the image of God, after God’s
likeness, but all humankind fell in the fall of the first Adam. Not
only was our moral
nature mortally injured by the fall but has become dead in our trespasses
and sin, and subject to the power of evil. “The carnal mind is
enmity against God for it is not subject to the law of God, neither
can it indeed
be. So then, they that are in the flesh cannot please God” (Rom. 8:1,8).
Therefore, one cannot see nor enter the kingdom of God until one is
born from above by the Holy Spirit. That no degree of reformation however
great,
no attainment in morality however high, no culture however attractive,
no humanitarian and philanthropic, designs and communities however useful,
no sacramental ordinance however administered, can help the sinner to
take
even one step toward Heaven; but only a new nature and life imparted
by the Holy Spirit through faith alone in the resurrected Son of God
is absolutely
essential for one’s salvation. (Gen. 1:26-27;
John 3:3; 7, 16-17;
Rom. 5:12;
Eph. 2:1-3; Titus 3:5.)
- That Jesus Christ became the sinners substitute before God and died
as an atoning sacrifice for the sin of the whole world. That He was
made a desecration for the sinner, dying for our sins, that no repentance,
no
feeling, no faith, no good resolutions, no sincere efforts, no submission
to the rules and regulations of any church can add in the very least
to the value of the precious blood or to merit of hat finished work
wrought
to us by Him, who tasted death for everyone. (Rom. 3:25; 4:4-5;
Col. 1:13-14, 20-21; Gal. 3:13; Heb. 2:9; 1 John 2:1.)
- That in the resurrection of the crucified Christ; His body
was raised from the dead and He ascended into Heaven where He sits at
the right
hand of God as the believer’s high priest and advocate. That
all who believe in Him by faith shall also be resurrected to eternal
life, which
begins in the moment when one comes to faith. (Luke 24:39; Acts 1:10-11;
Eph. 4:10; Heb. 1:3; 1 John 2:1.)
- That Christ is the fullness of the blessings He has secured by His
death and resurrection is received by faith alone and that the moment
we trust
in Him as our Savior we pass out of death into everlasting life, justified
from all things, reconciled to the Father according to the unlimited
measure of God’s acceptance, loved as God is love and made one
with God. At the time of acceptance of Christ as one’s Savior,
He becomes alive within the believer to live out His life of holiness
and power through
the believer. (John 5:24; 17:23; Acts 1:8; Rom. 3:28; Eph. 1:3;
Gal. 2:20; 4:6-7; 5:16.)
- That the Church is composed of all who truly believe
on the Lord Jesus Christ as Savior. It is the body and bride of Christ.
That every believer
is baptized into the body of Christ by the Holy Spirit and having
thus become members of the Church universal we are responsible to one
another
to keep
the bond of peace in the unity of the Holy Spirit, rising above all
sectarian prejudices and denominational separation and loving one another
with a
pure heart as much as in us lies with the aid of the Holy Spirit. (Rom 12:4-5;
1
Cor. 12:22-27; Eph. 1:22-23; 2:19-22; 4:3-6; Gal. 5:13-15;
Phil. 2:1-5.)
- That all believers in our Lord Jesus Christ are called into a life
of separation from worldly and sinful practices and should abstain from
such distractions and habits as will cause others to stumble or bring
reproach upon the cross of Christ. Believers are created in Christ Jesus
unto good
works. “As we have opportunity, let us do good unto all, especially
unto them who are of the household of faith” (Gal. 6:10).
(Rom. 13:14; 1 Cor 10:31; Eph 2:10; 1 John 2:15-16.)
